Description: Vanguard Natural Resources, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Engineer. They must be a hands-on, self-motivated, dependable, well-organized and results-oriented professional with the ability to demonstrate a proven track record of meeting regular deadlines and goals. Must have good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Duties Include:

  • Daily communications with field personnel to maximize operational efficiencies
  • Interface with accounting to ensure accurate lease operating expense capture and partner billings
  • Regularly analyze production and profitability. Identify surface and sub-surface improvement and optimization opportunities and initiate necessary action
  • Periodic well reviews with field personnel to insure we are maximizing profitability
  • Provide visible leadership and manage production related safety and environmental programs and compliance, including but not limited to: SPCC plans, air permits, NORM management, etc.
  • Specific engineering responsibilities include analyzing, designing, developing cost estimates, economic justification and implementation of procedures for:
  • Completions, recompletions, workovers and stimulation operations
  • Compression and artificial lift
  • Corrosion control and chemical programs
  • Production facilities and pipelines
  • Shared responsibilities with other Company personnel for the identification, estimation and development of proved producing and non-producing reserves, along with identification and evaluation of new investment opportunities
  • Periodic travel to work with corporate and other field personnel
  • Supervision of wellsite and downhole operations
  • Profitability focus including not only revenue and expenses, but also value creation and innovation

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 10-15 years of oil and gas production related engineering and operations experience. Rockies experience is desirable
  • Demonstrated expertise in well completions, recompletions, fracture stimulation, artificial lift, coiled tubing and general workover operations
  • Experience with production equipment, measurement, compression, pipelines and flow processes
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, self-initiative, positive attitude, accountability, integrity and the ability to work with a large team
  • Solid understanding of production accounting and financial performance metrics
  • Good computer and database management skills
  • Experience with nodal analysis, reserve estimations, project investment and risk modeling
